Starting nursery is an exciting step for both children and parents—but figuring out what to pack each day can feel a little overwhelming at first! 😅

At our nursery, we want your child to feel comfortable, confident, and ready for a day full of fun, learning, and discovery 🌈. That’s why having a well-packed bag can make all the difference!

Here’s our handy checklist to help you pack the perfect nursery bag—with a few tips to keep things simple and stress-free ✅

🧸 The Nursery Bag Checklist

✅ 1. Spare Clothes (at least 3 full sets!)
Play can get wonderfully messy! From water play to outdoor adventures, extra clothes are a must.

👕 T-shirts
👖 Leggings/trousers
🧦 Socks
🩲 Underwear (if toilet trained or toilet training)

💡 Tip: Pop everything in a labelled ziplock bag so it’s easy for staff to find.

✅ 2. Nappies, Wipes & Creams
If your child wears nappies, please include:

🧷 Enough nappies for the day
🧻 A pack of wipes
🧴 Nappy cream (if used – must be clearly labelled and signed in)

💡 We’re happy to let you know when supplies are running low.

✅ 3. Comfort Items (if needed)
A favourite teddy, blanket, or dummy can be a huge source of comfort—especially for little ones still settling in 💛

✅ 4. Weather-Appropriate Clothing
We go outside in all kinds of weather 🌦️ – so please pack for the forecast!

☀️ In summer:
🧢 Sun hat
🧴 Sun cream (labelled)
🕶️ Optional sunglasses

❄️ In winter:
🧥 Warm coat
🧤 Gloves
🧣 Hat
🧦 Extra socks

🌧️ Year-round:
🥾 Wellies
💧 Waterproofs (jacket or all-in-one)

💡 Leave a set of outdoor gear at nursery if you can – we’ll keep it safe!

✅ 5. Lunch & Snacks (if not provided by nursery)
Please check our food policy if you're packing meals. Keep it healthy, simple, and nut-free 🥪🍎

🥤 Refillable water bottle
🍱 Lunch in a labelled box

💡 Let us know about any allergies or dietary needs.

✅ 6. Toileting Items (if potty training)
To make transitions easier:

🚽 Spare pants and trousers
🧻 Wipes or flushable wipes
🎉 Lots of encouragement and praise!

🏷️ Labelling is Key!

✨ Please label everything—from jumpers to shoes to dummies.
It helps us keep belongings safe and makes life easier for your child and our staff.
