🦷 Supporting Children’s Oral Health at Our Nursery 🦷
At our nursery, we understand the importance of developing good oral health habits from a young age. Healthy teeth and gums play a vital role in children's overall well-being, helping them to eat, speak, and grow confidently. 💪
How We Support Oral Health at Nursery
We integrate oral health awareness into our daily routines in several ways:
- 🥕 Tooth-Friendly Snacks: We encourage children to eat nutritious, tooth-friendly snacks such as fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. Sugary treats are limited to help prevent tooth decay.
 - 💧 Hydration with Water: Water is our preferred choice for keeping children hydrated, reducing the risk of tooth decay associated with sugary drinks.
 - 🎵 Education Through Play: Our team uses stories, songs, and role-playing activities to teach children about the importance of brushing teeth, visiting the dentist, and making healthy food choices.
 - 👩🏫 Role Modeling: Staff model positive oral hygiene practices and discuss why keeping teeth clean is essential.

Tips for Parents: Promoting Oral Health at Home
- 🍼 Start Early: Begin cleaning your child’s gums before teeth appear and brush their teeth twice daily once they come through.
 - 👦 Supervise Brushing: Until your child is around 7 years old, support them in brushing to ensure they are cleaning their teeth effectively.
 - 🪥 Choose the Right Toothbrush: Use a small, soft-bristled toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.
 - 🦷 Regular Dental Visits: Schedule regular dental check-ups from your child's first birthday or when their first tooth appears.
